Tor Caldara natural reserve - Isola Verde Camping Village

The Tor Caldara Regional Nature Reserve located in the municipality of Anzio, near the Isola Verde Camping Village in Nettuno, is a protected natural area established in 1988. Like the other coastal towers in the Latium navy, the tower was erected around the mid-sixteenth century; however, it appears to have been built before the others to defend the mines behind to extract sulfur. The tower is circular in plan, initially taller than the present one, due to damage from various historical events.
